" Monk Lingyue's heart stirred, and he looked back.
Countless hideous heart demons were swarming behind them in pursuit.
Daoist Bai Yu said, "These heart demons are our army! They can help us crush the Southfall Sect, and then we drive the broken remnants of Southfall to charge the Eastfall Sect. Once we have seized the other two artifacts, taking the Northfall Sect will be as easy as turning over our hand!
" The two drove the Western Emperor Artifact, with countless heart demons behind them, and charged at the Southfall Sect. The Southfall Sect had yet to receive the news; when it saw the endless flood of heart demons surging toward it, it was already too late.
The soldiers guarding the artifact were veterans of countless battles; they at once sent their primordial spirits into the Southern Emperor Artifact and transformed it into a Vermilion Bird to meet the enemy. Yet the next moment, the Southfall Sect's army was scattered by the Western Emperor Artifact. The clash of the two artifacts was like the ancient god Southern Emperor going to war with the ancient god Western Emperor, and the Southfall Sect suffered appalling losses!
The heart demon host swept in, and the Southfall army routed; the Collapsed Void almost became a slaughterhouse, with heart demons everywhere, butchering the Heavenly Court's sect armies. In the chaotic melee, Daoist Bai Yu and Monk Lingyue joined hands and slew the soldiers controlling the Southern Emperor Artifact.
One took control of the Southern Emperor Artifact, the other of the Western, and with an even greater horde of heart demons they charged the Eastfall Sect! They fed the war with war itself, and when they struck the Eastfall Sect with that dense mass of heart demons, the Eastfall Sect routed even faster, left behind countless corpses, and fled toward the Tai Xu entrance.
Daoist Bai Yu and Monk Lingyue seized the Eastern Emperor Artifact. Daoist Bai Yu then manipulated the Southern Emperor Artifact to snatch up the Eastern Emperor Artifact, spread its wings, and soar, avoiding the heart demon army, and together with the Western Emperor Artifact under Monk Lingyue's control drove straight for the Northfall Sect near the Tai Xu lands.
The soldiers of the Northfall Sect had already learned the news; tens of thousands of gods and demons poured their primordial spirits into the body of the Northern Emperor Artifact and stood in strict array. But when they saw the heart demons blotting out the sky, despair flooded every heart! By the time the Heavenly Court received the news and Fire Heavenly Venerable and Hong Heavenly Venerable arrived, the armies of the four great sects had already suffered more than half casualties!
Of the Heavenly Court's million troops, nearly the entire force was wiped out; only the Eastfall Sect escaped from Tai Xu, preserving half its strength, while tens of thousands of soldiers were still trapped in the Collapsed Void, besieged by heart demons and facing death at any moment. The two Heavenly Venerables searched around, but the Four Imperial Artifacts had vanished without a trace.
This affair shook the Heavenly Court; it could be called the greatest defeat the Heavenly Court had suffered since the age of the Senior Emperor!
In its fury, the Heavenly Court ordered Zaofu Heavenly Palace to forge new artifacts, instructed the four Heavenly Masters to reorganize the troops of the four great sects, and also mobilized the armies of the Azure Emperor, the Red Emperor, the White Emperor, and the Black Emperor, and called up the Heavenly River Navy, with Fire and Hong Heavenly Venerables taking personal command, to march on Tai Xu. At that very moment, travel-worn, Daoist Bai Yu and Monk Lingyue descended with the Four Imperial Artifacts upon the Tai Xu lands, exchanged a smile, and walked toward the Divine City of Creators.
Within the Divine City, the Creators were all tensed as if facing a great enemy.
