Chapter 2347 — Who Are You?

The Blossom Guardian

Donghai could be counted as the hidden Han family's territory too. Wei Zhao's elder had been bullied here—as Wei Zhao's junior brother, how could Han Xiaopo bear the shame?

At that thought, Han Xiaopo thumped his chest and declared, "Boss, leave this to me. I guarantee I'll get it done properly. Lei Daming, is it? I'll have a word with my grandfather and make the man behave himself!"

"Mm, handle it as you see fit," Wei Zhao said with a nod.

"Uncle Chu, rest easy. These small fry aren't worth the boss lifting a finger—I'll take care of them!" Han Xiaopo said. "First I'll find out what sort of background this Lei Daming has, then work out a countermeasure."

"No need to ask around. He's brought more people," Wei Zhao suddenly cut in, speaking calmly.

"Again?" Han Xiaopo was instantly nettled. This was Donghai City—the hidden Han family were half-owners here—and Lei Daming still dared to come? Han Xiaopo was about to explode with rage. He shot to his feet and said to Wei Zhao, "Boss, leave it to me. I'll go have a word with him!"

"All right," Wei Zhao said with a nod. "Be careful."

Han Xiaopo stepped out of the private room and saw the lobby manager from before, strutting over with a bald man and an old man and a young man in tow! The lobby manager, who had been so meek a moment ago, now looked like a prize rooster, chest puffed out and head held high.

Han Xiaopo did not recognize the bald man—presumably that was Lei Daming—but the old man and the young man bringing up the rear were only too familiar to him. At the sight of them, Han Xiaopo could not help but frown. Enemies really were fated to meet!

Both hidden families of Donghai, the hidden Han family and the hidden Zhao family, were naturally not on good terms—especially after their falling-out at the Hidden World Families Summit. The two families were now like fire and water!

"Han Xiaopo, shouldn't you be staying quietly at home? Since when did you learn to jump out and play the champion for others?" Zhao Qibing had long found Han Xiaopo an eyesore. He had broken his leg in the very first race and had never had a chance to curse Han Xiaopo since—until now. With Elder Bi at his side, he naturally no longer feared Han Xiaopo.

"Zhao Qibing. Is your leg healed?" Han Xiaopo looked at Zhao Qibing's swiftly striding legs with a face full of mockery. "Seems you rushed over here so eagerly because you're hoping for another break!"

"Han Xiaopo, give you an inch and you take a mile, is that it? Before, with Wei Zhao at your side, I didn't dare touch you—but now, what do you think you are? Nothing but one of Wei Zhao's dogs, and you don't even know your own place. No skills to speak of, yet you strut out here putting on airs!" Zhao Qibing, struck on his sore spot, grew furious at once. "I'm telling you, if you know what's good for you today, take your people and crawl back home, and tell your people to stop coveting Donghai City's business—otherwise don't blame me, Zhao, for being unkind!"

"I'm really curious—you're only a Mystic-rank fighter now, aren't you? What gives you the right to bark at me?" Han Xiaopo watched Zhao Qibing with interest, his tone mocking. "Or do you fancy you can fight above your level like the boss?"

"You level up by swallowing pills, and you still put on airs with me!" Zhao Qibing said with contempt. "I don't mind telling you—the master has already agreed to give me pills too. Catching up to you will be a matter of minutes!"

It wasn't that the hidden Zhao family lacked wondrous elixirs like the Spirit-Gathering Pill and the Minor Qi-Gathering Pill—they simply had few in stock. For a family to endure and develop, it could hardly empty its entire fortune for the use of its younger generation, could it?

Even if Zhao Qibing's whole generation were raised to early Earth-rank fighters, what of the fourth and fifth generations after them? If by then those pills could no longer be obtained and a gap in strength opened up, wouldn't the hidden Zhao family be driven out of the ranks of hidden families?

So, in the years before this, the great hidden families had all upheld one principle: let the family's younger generation advance on their own. If pills could be avoided, avoid them; only when there was truly no other way should they be used! Besides, there was an advantage to not reaching Earth rank—one could move freely in and out of the secular world.

But now, the Hidden Families Arbitration Association existed in name only, and no one supervised who was Earth rank and who was not. Moreover, after the hidden Han family's rise, every family's younger generation had grown red-eyed with envy and resolved to cultivate their own youths with all their might—so the long-sealed pills were all brought out!

In truth, apart from the hidden You family, the other hidden families did not have many pills to spare. They had come by them through wagers, exchanges, trials, and ceremonial gifts—how could they possibly use them freely?

But circumstances forced their hand: if you didn't use them and others did, you would fall behind. So after the Hidden World Families Summit, the hidden Zhao family too prepared to give pills to its younger generation.

Han Xiaopo glanced at Elder Bi behind Zhao Qibing and felt a stir of apprehension! Elder Bi was a fighter at the peak of late Earth rank—not someone Han Xiaopo could contend with! Elder Bi had been famous for years and was a core figure in the hidden Zhao family, the one most likely to step into Heaven rank.

"Zhao Qibing, isn't the hidden Zhao family reaching a bit too far? Meddling in everything?" Han Xiaopo said angrily.

"Heh, so I meddle in everything—what of it? Bite me?" Zhao Qibing knew Han Xiaopo dared not make trouble before Elder Bi, so to avenge the humiliation of his broken leg at Han Xiaopo's hands during the last race, he kept right on insulting him. "I'll tell you, with Wei Zhao not at your side, you're worse than a dog. Crawl back to the hidden Han family and hide!"

"With which eye did you see that I'm not at his side?" A cold voice sounded by Zhao Qibing's ear—not loud, yet like a thunderclap that nearly frightened him out of his wits. He trembled all over and raised his head in disbelief to look at Wei Zhao, who was stepping out of the private room, his legs beginning to cramp.

"Lin—Boss Wei Zhao, you're here too, haha?" Zhao Qibing's voice was shaking. He regretted it; inwardly he cursed Lei Daming's ancestors for eighteen generations. Outsider, outsider—couldn't you have mentioned a name? Would saying the name have killed you? Had he known this outsider was Wei Zhao, he and Zhao Guangyin would certainly have told Lei Daming to hand over part of the market to him—how could a man like this be provoked so casually?

"If Han Xiaopo is a dog, then what are you?" Wei Zhao glanced at Zhao Qibing, his gaze sweeping over Elder Bi behind him as he silently weighed the old man's strength—and finally reached a conclusion: Elder Bi was weak, weaker even than the third-ranking officer of the Red Conch!
