"How do you know I could beat them?" Yang Ce gave Alice a look that was half smile, half something else.
"Hm?" Alice was briefly startled, then laughed. "Naturally because Uncle Buffon told me—that you're very formidable."
"Is that so?" Yang Ce said nothing more—there was no need to. By now he was utterly certain that this Alice had a problem. An absolute problem!
Because earlier, in Goro's cabin, the scene Yang Ce had witnessed was this: Alice had not been locked inside the cabin at all. Rather, she was in a hidden corner of the pirate ship's deck, giving instructions to the one-eyed man!
At the time, Yang Ce had been in a hurry and had not bothered to read their lips in detail. Besides, they had been speaking in English, very rapidly, and Yang Ce could not read it as smoothly as his native tongue. So he did not know exactly what Alice had said.
That did not hinder Yang Juehuan's judgment, though: Alice had given the one-eyed man her orders first and only then shut herself inside the room. Judging from the way she treated the one-eyed man, they were plainly in league with each other!
This whole thing was nothing but a staged play!
