Chapter 30 — The Tide Turns
Years of Heartflutter Page 2 of 2
The second brother was speechless. Yang Yanzhou was right—today they really should have checked the almanac before going out. How could they be this unlucky? Suppressing his anger, the second brother said, "Brother, don't go too far. The mountains don't turn, but the waters do—always leave yourself a way out. Everyone's got family and friends, don't they?"
"Are you threatening me?" Yang Yongjin's anger turned to laughter. Someone actually daring to threaten him—and what Yang Ce hated most was being threatened. So he pressed the blade harder, and a line of blood appeared on the second brother's neck.
"Threaten? I wouldn't dare," the second brother said, his heart turning cold. He hadn't expected this kid, young as he was, to be so ruthless—even more merciless than himself. He no longer dared utter such grand words, and instead begged, "Brother, let us off this once. There's always another day."
"Heh, I may be willing to let you go, but someone else might not be." A faint smile touched Yang Juehuan's lips, for far ahead he had already spotted two police cars racing toward them, sirens wailing.
Clearly, Chen Fei had received Chen Shutang's call and contacted the nearest patrol cars.
"What do you mean by that?" Second Brother was taken aback.
"Nothing. You all get out of the car." Yang Linyue said flatly. "Driver, pull over to the side."
"Right, right." By now the driver regarded Yang Ce as a god descended from heaven. He had thought it was all over, yet Yang Ce had dropped in like some divine being and turned the whole situation around in the blink of an eye.
The car slowly pulled over and stopped. Second Brother gave a nod, then said to Yang Yanzhou: "Thanks. These are the things we searched out just now. We'll leave them with you."
With that, Second Brother tossed a sack to Yang Puqi, while Yang Xu casually handed his over to Yu Yi, who stood frozen in bewilderment off to the side.
To be continued.
